Timbuk2 has added Angel Martinez to its Board of Directors. Mr. Martinez, the CEO of Keen Footwear and former Chief Marketing Officer of Reebok International, brings nearly three decades of consumer brand building expertise to the rapidly growing luggage company.

“Angel brings a wealth of marketing and general management experience to our growing company,” explained Timbuk2 President and CEO Mark Dwight. “He is a legend in the footwear industry for establishing Reebok's leadership in the women's athletic shoe market and for spearheading Reebok's ongoing commitment to socially responsible outsourcing.”

During his 21 years with Reebok, Martinez played an important role in directing the rapid growth of the successful footwear brand from $1 million in revenue to nearly $3 billion. He is credited with the market success of the Reebok “Freestyle”, one of the best-selling women's fitness shoes of all time. Martinez is currently the CEO of Keen Footwear, and he serves on the board of both Ariat International, the leading manufacturer of equestrian footwear and apparel, and Tupperware, a leading manufacturer of housewares. Martinez also continues to serve on the Reebok Human Rights Board of Advisors.

“I'm excited to assist the management team at Timbuk2,” said Martinez. “The brand has tremendous potential, and I hope to share my own business experiences in helping the company evolve from its authentic bicycle messenger roots into a leading urban lifestyle brand.”
