Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison, who founded the Sigerson
Morrison footwear company in 1991 – and its lower-priced offshoot, Belle Sigerson
Morrison, in 2004 – have parted ways with the company.

The brand is owned by Marc Fisher Footwear. Though Marc
Fisher acquired the company in 2006, the founders stayed on board as creative
and design directors.

“We wish Kari and Miranda the best on their future
endeavors,” Susan Itzkowitz, president of the Fisher Sigerson Morrison
company, said in a statement.

“We are excited as we begin a new chapter with the
Sigerson Morrison and Belle brands,” she continued. “We look to stay
true to the spirit of Sigerson Morrison with influential and innovative design.
As for Belle, we see huge potential with the brand in terms of design, sales
and marketing.”

The reason for the split has not been disclosed by either
side, though Sigerson and Morrison are reportedly pursuing new business
opportunities. No successors have been named, but Fisher Sigerson Morrison's
statement says the in-house design team will take on design responsibilities
for both brands.

Sigerson Morrison operates four stand-alone stores in New
York, California, and Paris, as well as two stand-alone Belle stores. The brand
is carried at Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's,
Neiman Marcus, and select boutiques across the country.
