Kammok, a manufacturer of outdoor gear for the city-to-trail adventurer, is taking a 1% for the Planet #OathofAction this inauguration day.

As part of the same initiative, Sunski, an eyewear manufacturer, will be donating all sales from this Friday, January 20, 2017 to 1% For the Planet.

As a 1% for the Planet member, Kammok donates at least 1 percent of annual revenues to social and environmental causes. This past summer, Kammok partnered with Explore Austin, a local organization in their hometown of Austin, TX, that combines the benefits of mentoring and outdoor adventure to underserved youth in the community.

In addition to their commitment to give 1 percent revenue each year, the company will host an outdoor event for their team of Explore Austin mentors and explorers. The Kammok team will volunteer their time with Austin’s youth by going for a hike, hanging in hammocks and spending time getting to know the kids they sponsor as well as their mentors. Through its partnership, annual financial commitment and #OathofAction, Kammok’s goal is to fuel life change through leadership training, mentorship and outdoor adventure.

1% for the Planet and Kammok are asking their networks and communities to join them in the movement by taking whatever action feels meaningful and attainable and share their commitment on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook leading up to and on inauguration day.

Inspired by Patagonia donating 100 percent of its Black Friday sales to grassroots nonprofits, Sunski will take the #OathofAction and give 100 percent of its sales on inauguration day to 1% For the Planet.

“We’re giving 100 percent of our sales to 1% For the Planet on inauguration day to show solidarity with the outdoor industry and to inspire our supporters to stand up for the environment by taking action in their community,” said Michael Charley, co-founder of Sunski. “Each voice in the pack adds to the howl!”

Those who wish to join the Oath of Action can go to sunskis.com to make their purchase on Friday, January 20.
