Kamik appointed Patrick Chevallier vice president of international sales and
promoted Catherine Cook, previously VP of marketing, to the new role of VP of
marketing and strategic planning.
Chevallier will manage sales and operations for the international market from Europe. Cook will remain in Kamik’s Montreal headquarters, overseeing the strategic planning process for the ever-expanding brand.
Chevallier brings over 25 years of outdoor industry experience and a superior knowledge of the sales landscape in European markets. Chevallier comes to Kamik from Columbia and Sorel, where he held the position of European Sales Director since 2008. Chevallier’s past experience also includes Commercial Director at Amer Sports, Head of Emerging Markets at Salomon and Marketing Manager and Business Unit Manager for Alpine Ski & Binding.
“Kamik is an established footwear brand that continues to successfully permeate the competitive outdoor marketplace,” said Chevallier. “I welcome the challenge of growing the Kamik brand in Europe and additional international markets.”
Cook, a part of the Kamik team for more than 14 years, is responsible for defining Kamik’s long-term strategic business plans based on consumer market research, competitive business trends and distribution channel analysis. Cook brings a deep understanding of the marketplace, a wide range of knowledge in consumer behavior science and the current economy, and both a personal and professional understanding of the Kamik brand to her new role. A family owned and operated company, Cook’s grandfather took over the business in 1932.
“Kamik has a strong following and established trust among core users, which sets the stage for significant growth in the current market,” said Cook. “This new position is important for the advancement of the Kamik brand, and I’m excited for the challenge and ready to jump in and work with our expanding team to grow the brand.”
Chevallier and Cook’s outdoor expertise goes beyond a professional capacity. Chevallier is a self-professed “sports addict,” with a love for skiing, cross-country skiing, incline skating, and mountain biking. Cook is an avid runner and cyclist who enjoys training for marathons and appreciating all the Canadian outdoors has to offer.
The announcements come just in time for the introduction of the company’s 2015 collection, including a partnership with Polartec to bring advanced technologies to the women’s winter collection, and the introduction of the Boa Closure System in the men’s and children’s winter lines.
Kamik is looking to fill Cook’s previous position of Vice President of Marketing in the coming weeks.
Kamik is a division of Genfoot Inc.
