Seattle-based K2 Sports USA announced the retirement of Rob Howland as the K2 Snowboarding sales representative for the Rockies region. K2 has signed Howland's partner John Pinnick to assume Howland's responsibilities in the Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming territory.
“The K2 family is extremely grateful to Rob and his dedication to K2 Snowboarding. He has been instrumental in the brand's progression and growth,” said John O'Connor, K2's Director of US Sales & Marketing.
“Leaving both the industry and K2 is an extremely difficult decision. K2 has truly become my family, and the last 15 years representing K2 Snowboarding have been the best years of my life. It has been incredibly fun, challenging, and I would not change a thing,” said Howland. In regards to Pinnick's new role, Howland said: “JP has been an amazing partner; our accounts are stoked to watch him evolve the Rockies zone with his own character and flair, and he'll continue to drive the great momentum that K2 continues to gain.”
John Pinnick, or “JP”, will move into the position on May 15th, 2010. He has been employed by Howland as a sales rep in the Rockies for the past five years. Pinnick will also represent K2 brands Planet Earth Clothing and Morrow Snowboards.
“It has been fantastic working with Rob – he has been a great mentor and friend. I've learned a lot from him and excited to take the reigns of the ‘Green Machine'. I look forward to the challenge and am ready to bring a new energy to the area” said Pinnick. “K2 is an incredible brand and I am very grateful to be given this opportunity.”
Howland plans to move to Nicaragua where he is currently building a home.
