All sales, marketing and product development operations of the K2 Snow apparel brand have fully transitioned from K2 Sports in Vashon, Wash., to operate under Marmot in Santa Rosa, Calif. K2 Inc., parent company of K2 Sports, acquired Marmot in 2004 to establish an apparel and softgoods platform to inspire new designs and create efficiencies across several of the company’s sporting goods brands.

“Marmot has developed industry-leading technical apparel and softgoods for more than 30 years,” said Anthony De Rocco, K2 Sport’s Global Marketing Vice President. “No one builds better product. K2 Inc. recognized Marmot’s core competencies when it acquired the company last year and now is building the organization’s apparel business around Marmot’s design, manufacturing, sales, visual merchandising and marketing operations.”

“K2 Snow and Marmot are a perfect complement for each other,” said Mark Martin, Division President of Marmot. “The creation of the new K2 apparel design, sales and visual merchandising team will further advance the technical quality, look and feel of the line for riders. We’re confident the focus on innovative designs, new fabric and construction technologies, and engaging visual merchandising, coupled with our expertise in apparel sourcing and supply chain management will allow the K2 Snow brand to grow substantially on a global scale.”

Marmot recently named Jill Nickels sales coordinator to direct K2 Snow sales operations in the U.S. In addition she will personally manage sales programs in California and Nevada.
