Joe’s Sports & Outdoor has recently completed a series of improvement to its Eugene, Oregon store, which originally opened in 1983. The store saw the addition of a new 5,000 sq. ft. Paddlesport & Boat Center. Repairs, rack installation, ski & snowboard tune-ups and other services are offered at the new Sport Services Shop located in the front of the store. Serving hikers, hunters and anglers is a brand new Field & Stream Counter, highlights of which include innovative fishing reel and GPS displays that allow hands-on comparison shopping between the different makes and models.

Moving the Field & Stream Counter opened up space for the new Apparel Department which features a larger selection of casual sportswear, the latest styles for skiers and snowboarders, and all-new dressing rooms. Complementing the newly expanded selection of performance athletic shoes is a separate casual footwear shop featuring low cut hikers, oxfords and other styles that are dressy while still in keeping with the rugged Northwest lifestyle.

For people who appreciate the Eugene area’s many bike paths and trails, the new Joe’s Sports & Outdoor has a selection that rivals many bike shops. Power sport fans will find more ATVs, carts and scooters.

The store is located at 1030 Green Acres Rd., in the Delta Oaks retail center. Customers are invited to the ribbon cutting at 9 am Thursday, October 25, 2007. Gift cards worth between $5 and $500 will be given to the first 500 customers through the doors. There will also be outdoor seminars, product demonstrations, free ski & snowboard hot waxes, and other activities throughout the weekend.

Honorary guest at the ribbon cutting on Thursday will be Chris Miller, Executive Director of Emerald Kidsports, which coordinates youth sports for Eugene, Springfield and surrounding areas. Joe’s Sports & Outdoor has been a major sponsor of Emerald Kidsports for many years.

“From our perspective the best thing about the remodel is the new team shop and expanded sports equipment selection,” said Miller. “Kids can find exactly what they need for whatever sport they play. It’s just one example of why Kidsports values our partnership with Joe’s and the entire community.”

Chuck Wines, Eugene Store Manager, said, “We’re thrilled to be finished with the remodel, and want to thank everyone for their patience. Our Grand Re-Opening weekend celebration includes a pre-game tailgate party on Saturday, where we’ll set up some TVs and watch the Ducks pummel the Trojans… come one come all!”
