According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds for the U.S. were down 18.8% January 2010 compared to January 2009.
Public Access play was down 18.1% for the month and private course activity was down 20.4%. A total of 3180 courses are represented in this report.
By region, the biggest decline came in West North Central, 75.3%; followed by South Central, 35.25; South Atlantic, 17.9%; Mountain, 12.1%; and Pacific, 11.1%. The two positive regions saw huge gains: New England, up 408.4%; and Mid Atlantic, up 130.5%.
