Markus Hefter has taken over the position of Exhibition Group Director for ispo winter, and will be responsible for all sectors of the international sporting goods exhibition. Hefter has been working for ispo since 2007 in the position of Project Director for the Outdoor sector and was a vital contributor to the development of the new Outdoor concept. He was also a key figure in encouraging the recently confirmed partnership between the EOG (European Outdoor Group) and ispo winter and will continue to act as a contact for the show's Outdoor Community.
Hefter's trade show and event business experience is not just a result of his time with ispo. He gained valuable know-how during his work at the M,O,C, Munich Order Center, from 2004 to 2007. As Project and Sales Manager of the sports and footwear order center he was responsible for the key accounts, as well as quality control and strategic development. One of his successes includes increasing the occupancy of the rental spaces to full capacity.
Reporting directly to Tobias Gröber, head of the B2B-Consumer Goods business unit of Messe München, Hefter has already begun working in his new position. The 38-year-old business economist replaced Stefan Reschke, who recently moved to Vienna to act as General Manager of MMI Messe München's International/Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe.
Manfred Wutzlhofer, chairman and CEO of Messe München GmbH, said, “We are pleased that Markus Hefter accepted the position of ispo Exhibition Group Director. Thanks to his efforts we were able to considerably strengthen the ispo's Outdoor segment, and we are convinced that he also will be able to further strengthen the ispo's position as the leading trade exposition for the sporting goods industry.”
