FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, and Intersport announced the signing of a global partnership agreement within the Official Sports Retailer category for the 2013-2015 FIBA Competitions, including all Continental Championships in 2013 and 2015 and the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.

FIBA has entered into a multi-year agreement with IIC-Intersport International Corporation, world leader in the sporting goods retailing market. Intersport has been appointed as FIBA Global Partner within the Official Sports Retailer category.

The agreement covers all FIBA Mens and Womens competitions for 2013-2015: the FIBA Africa Championships (2013, 2015), FIBA Americas Championships (2013, 2015), FIBA Asia Championships (2013, 2015), FIBA Oceania Championships (2013, 2015), the EuroBaskets (2013, 2015) as well as the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain and the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women in Turkey.

The partnership grants Intersport a comprehensive set of sponsorship rights, including exposure at all the above-mentioned competitions. Furthermore, Intersport will have product licensing rights and will in particular operate official shops for the sale of event merchandise in the arenas. With its experience from many major international sports events, Intersport will contribute to the promotion of the flagship national team basketball competitions.
