Interbike has partnered with the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) and the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association (BPSA) to produce the first-ever Winterbike, a trade event that features a demo day and an indoor product forum. Winterbike will be held in conjunction with the Bicycle Leadership Conference in Phoenix, AZ.
Open to all industry members, Winterbike kicks off with the Demo Day at nearby McDowell Mountain Regional Park on February 10, from 10am-4pm. Modeled after Interbike's popular OutDoor Demo, the Winterbike Demo Day provides the ideal setting for retailers and media to demo the latest innovations in bikes and accessories, while allowing exhibiting manufacturers the chance to gain valuable product feedback, market insight and brand exposure from key buyers and industry influencers. McDowell Mountain Regional Park, located just outside of Phoenix, is home to some of the nations best riding (especially in February) and has hosted many world class cycling events, including the 24 Hours of Adrenalin and the former Cactus Cup.
Following the Demo, the event moves indoors to the upscale Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort on the evening of February 10th, for the Winterbike Product Forum. Held in suite-style casitas, the Product Forum is designed to allow suppliers the chance to showcase their newest products and services in a personal, interactive setting with some of the top retailers and buyers.
The Winterbike Product Forum runs for two consecutive evenings, the first for media and VIPs after the Demo Day on February 10th from 8pm-10pm and then a reception and product preview for retailers and buyers following the first day of BLC seminars on February 11th from 5pm – 10 pm.
“Interbike has supported the Bicycle Leadership Conference for many years and weve always believed in the importance of the educational component of any industry gathering,” said Lance Camisasca, Interbike show director. “Teaming up with the BLC to produce Winterbike was an easy decision for us. It creates a new and unique opportunity for manufacturers to have more face time with their key buyers.”
“The Bicycle Leadership Conference is an important event for our industry,” said Fred Clements, Executive Director of the NBDA. “Incorporating the Winterbike Demo Day and Product Forum adds an important product element to the conference,” said Clements.
“From a manufacturers point of view, Winterbike is a super idea. It allows for some serious quality time with our most important customers in a different setting than the traditional trade show environment,” said Skip Hess, president of BPSA and Giant Bicycles.
