The InterBike Tradeshow is shaping up to be a record-breaking event on just about every level. Preliminary attendance levels are the highest they have been since 1998 with 14,000 retailers from 3,300 bike shops pre-registered. The show has seen a 43% growth in the number of bike vendor exhibitors – from 100 last year to 143 this year.

A total of 21,000 people are scheduled to flood the floors of the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas this coming Sunday.

The Outdoor demo has seen changes in both timing and venue. The demo will now be held at Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, NV – a cycling hub for the Vegas area, and it will be two days instead of one.

“Boulder City offers more amenities for the exhibitors – there are a few restaurants, and there’s actually a hardware store, just in case…”, said Chris Denny, spokesperson for the show.

The new venue should be a vast improvement over last years site in Blue Diamond, NV. There will be a world class downhill course, plenty of XC riding, a professionally designed BMX course, and 2 mile paved loop for the roadies.

The show is attracting more international attention, with attendance from the group up to around 1,000 from 625 last year. The exhibitor and overall attendance are expected to be similar to last year, but look for action in the new BMX area of the floor.

“This should be a really exciting show, you’ll see people with tattoos and body piercings hanging out with guys who shave their legs”, said Denny.
