Inov8 released its next-gen hard ground trail running shoes—the Trailfly and Trailfly Speed with the latest “design enhancements in the company’s 20-plus year history.” They also “form part of a radical new 2024 footwear collection that headlines Inov8’s first rebrand,” said the company in a release.

The first shoe in the collection launched last month, the Mudtalon Speed, was designed for running on muddy, soft-ground trails. The two new arrivals are for running on hard ground.

While they retain some of the DNA that has made earlier shoes from the same franchise successful, these are a “different breed of beast”.

Like the other shoes in the 2024 collection, the Trailfly and Trailfly Speed feature a new anatomical foot-shaped fit that promotes a more natural feel for improved comfort and performance. The shoe designers also enhanced grip, cushioning, protection, durability, and visual design.

The Trailfly Speed, released at retail, is the lighter of the two new shoes. The Trailfly offers deeper cushioning than its sibling and will soon be released. Both will “eventually” come in two new widths—standard and wide. For launch, the Trailfly Speed is in wide. The Trailfly will launch in both standard and wide.

Inov8 Founder Wayne Edy said, “Shoes from our Trailfly franchise have won many awards over recent years, including trail running shoe of the year accolades. Our experienced design team has built on that and, at the same time, brilliantly revolutionized our new footwear offering for 2024 across our run, walk, and gym categories.

“The new shoes are neither over-engineered nor under-engineered, in the strong belief that nature knows best. We let your foot control the shoe, not the shoe control the foot.

“This is a huge year for Inov8, the biggest since we began in 2003. We look forward to sharing more of our exciting 2024 innovations in the coming weeks and months,” concluded Edy.
