IMG Sports Licensing, a division of IMG Worldwide, announced a multi-year agreement with Salt Life, the beach lifestyle brand, to exclusively manage its U.S. and international trademark licensing program effective immediately.

IMG Sports Licensing will be responsible for building a comprehensive licensing program for this premier ocean lifestyle brand through strategic partnerships with exceptional manufacturers and retailers. IMG Sports Licensing will immediately begin pursuing licensing partnerships in key categories such as lifestyle and performance apparel, swimwear, headwear, decals, sunglasses and watches, beach accessories, bath and beauty products, and consumables.

“Salt Life is an authentic, inspirational, lifestyle, and cause-related brand with widespread appeal, and we are excited to represent its licensing program,” said Maureen Broughton Murrah, Vice President, IMG Sports Licensing. “Salt Life is the perfect representation of all things the beach lifestyle offers, and we want to maximize that experience for consumers through new and exciting programs.”

Salt Life was founded in 2003 by four avid watermen in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. The Salt Life brand, which became a phenomenon with its iconic font on vehicle decals and apparel, embraces beach enthusiasts worldwide and speaks to those who share a passion for the ocean and its lifestyle.

“Whether you're a sportsman or a shell collector, Salt Life has always been a statement about the beach lifestyle and providing a brand that says 'I live the Life,' ” said Richard Thompson, managing partner, Salt Life. “We believe this partnership with IMG will allow us to create new opportunities to share the Salt Life brand with ocean lovers across the globe.”

From its first merchandise offerings in 2006, Salt Life has grown to more than $6 million in annual sales, with distribution in 300+ sporting good, department store, and specialty outlets. Moving forward, IMG will work with Salt Life to escalate its licensing program by developing strategic marketing and growth initiatives on a national and global level.

The new agreement also includes catalog, e-commerce, and retail store rights.
