Ignik introduces a new heated sleep system featuring its patent-pending Radiant Carbon Strand (RCS) active heating elements.
Launching Fall 2020, the line will include six products that work with existing gear for cold-weather comfort. Ignik’s RCS technology, which features conductive stranded carbon fiber woven into fabric, provides sustainable active heat that works with any 5V or 12V power source. An integrated soft-touch silicon button lets the user control the duration and intensity of the heat, easily switching between high, medium, and low settings.
With configurations to fit a variety of needs, the products are “durable, waterproof, and machine washable, and the line is made from bluesign-approved, 100 percent recycled polyester”.
“RCS technology is going to change the game for recreating in cold weather, from winter campouts to mountaineering excursions to skiing or hunting basecamps,” said Peter Pontano, Ignik’s Director of Marketing and Product Development. “These ultra-thin filaments are sewn directly into the fabric to create heated gear that is waterproof, safe and extremely efficient. In addition, we’re sourcing durable, eco-friendly recycled fabrics so users can feel good about what’s going into their gear.”
