Igloo Products Corp., the nations largest designer, manufacturer and marketer of coolers, today announced that David C. Thornhill has been appointed its new Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. He will report to Igloo Chairman and CEO, Gary Kiedaisch, who made the announcement. In his new expanded position, Thornhill will have responsibility for day-to-day operations at Igloo and, with resident management, will execute the companys short and long term strategic plan.

According to Kiedaisch, Thornhill has proven himself to be the obvious choice to fill the open position. For four years, David has done an extraordinary job driving Igloos new product development from beginning to end. While David successfully executed similar responsibilities for Igloo previously, he will now be assuming the responsibility for Manufacturing, Distribution, Logistics/Supply Chain, Sourcing, Product, Marketing and Engineering, he said. During Thornhills tenure, Igloo has designed and launched upwards of 200 new products within the past three years, accounting for approximately 35 percent of Igloos current business.

Thornhill brings 26 plus years of leadership experience from numerous world class companies including Black and Decker Inc., Fruit of the Loom, The Coleman Company and Tupperware Corporation, in addition to his four years at the helm of Igloos product development, marketing and brand management.

Thornhill is a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida with a BS in Marketing.
