Igloo Product Corporation appointed Sue Miller Payton as its director of marketing. Payton comes to Igloo from Fairway Markets, where she was vice president
of marketing and chief merchandising officer for the New York grocery
chain.
Prior to her tenure with Fairway Market, for ten years she held a
variety of senior marketing management positions at Walmart,
culminating as the senior strategy manager for in-store marketing,
communications and customer experience.
In her new position, Payton will be responsible for all aspects of product marketing, promotion, advertising and public relations, cyber-marketing including all social media, special events and exhibits. She is based at the company's corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing location in Katy, Texas.
According to Igloo chairman and CEO, Gary Kiedaisch. , the new head of marketing has a diverse marketing background making her a valuable member of the new team at Igloo.
“Sue Payton has experience with brand marketing in a variety of industries. Her tenure with Walmart gives her an insider's perspective on how our product category works with the nation's largest retailer,” he said. “Her knowledge of the newest tactics in using both traditional and new media marketing tools will help elevate Igloo to the next level. We're looking forward to her making a significant contribution to Igloo's future.”
Having experience with an important Igloo customer is a plus. “Igloo serves a broad range of outdoor markets through a number of channels, Walmart being one,” said Payton. “Walmart's corporate culture takes some time to appreciate. My time there taught me universal lessons about the importance of clarity in delivering messages and the critical importance of consistency. Igloo has many of the same challenges, challenges that my team will face with passion and authenticity.
