ICON Health & Fitness announced the new name of ICON Fit Elements for its light exercise division, effective as of January 1, 2005. Formerly headquartered in Mesquite, Texas, the newly renamed ICON Fit Elements division will be based in Logan, Utah and headed by Chuck Mattka, a 10-year ICON executive who has most recently served as General Manager for ICON’s light exercise division.

Mattka will be working with ICON’s existing sales managers and rep groups to continue servicing ICON accounts that purchase light exercise gear, yoga and Pilates, such as Sears, Wal-Mart, The Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods and others.

The company expects no disruption in shipments to current customers as a result of the changes.

“We believe the new name ICON Fit Elements communicates our line of innovative, attractive and fun products that form the fundamental elements of good fitness,” Mattka said.

Several different brands and product lines fall under the ICON Fit Elements banner, including NordicTrack, Weider, Gold’s Gym, iFIT Solutions and Reebok.

In addition to light exercise products such as jump ropes, ankle weights and other packaged exercise products, the ICON Fit Elements line includes strength training products, such as cast iron dumbbells and weight plates, products for yoga, Pilates, and stretching, and educational videos, DVDs, books and websites to help consumers use and enjoy their light exercise or yoga purchases.
