Icebreaker is moving its U.S. headquarters from Sun Valley, Idaho, to
Portland, Oregon. The transition is expected by the company to be
completed by early 2009.

The move integrates U.S. sales, marketing, and operations into the same
location as the brand’s global design center and is expected to
accommodate Icebreaker’s current and projected growth in the states.
The company, known for its merino wool products, also expects to
benefit from the talent pool in the Portland region.

“The US team has done a fantastic job in growing the business and a
successful operations base, ” said Moon. “In order to continue our
successful trajectory in the US, we need to be able to more readily
recruit and retain talent, while allowing for greater synergies between
our US head office and our global product team,” said Icebreaker
founder and CEO, Jeremy Moon. “Transitioning to Portland, where we’ve
developed our global design team, will allow us to do just that, in a
progressive city where design, sustainability, and the outdoor
lifestyle and industries converge.”

Icebreaker put a design team in Portland about six months ago, but has
kept its U.S. operations in Sun Valley, where it opened three years
ago. The U.S. sales and marketing team will be relocating to Portland
between February and April 2008, with operations and finance to follow
within the year, completing the transition in February of 2009. The 20
Idaho staff members will be given the opportunity to relocate.

“We have a strong team in the US office and our transition to Portland
will offer opportunities for everyone who has helped Icebreaker grow so
much in such a short time,” said Moon.
