Huffy Sports Company recently signed a four-year deal with the National Soccer League to become the official game-day ball provider. Under terms of the agreement, Huffy Sports will also produce and market an NSL-licensed retail ball featuring the NSL logo and/or individual team logos.

The NSL is a professional, indoor soccer league beginning play in June 2006. The league will feature franchises in a minimum of eight markets across the country. League president, Sydney Nusinov, says the partnership with Huffy Sports is a great fit for the league because of the company’s solid reputation within the sporting goods industry and its extensive channels of distribution.

“Huffy Sports is one of the most recognized sporting goods brands in the world,” Nusinov said. “The company is committed to soccer and has the ability to market our league to the world. I couldn’t think of a better partner for the National Soccer League.”

Randy Schickert, president and general manager of Huffy Sports Company, feels the recent deal solidifies the company’s position in the soccer category. “Over the past two years, we’ve gone to great lengths to position Huffy Sports as a leading brand in the inflatable soccer ball category. Through product innovation, superior craftsmanship and competitive pricing, we’ve made in-roads. Our association with the National Soccer League builds on our commitment to become a major supplier in the soccer industry.”

Huffy Sports plans to launch its first NSL-licensed retail ball in conjunction with the start of league play.
