Circular sportswear brand Houdini, in collaboration with The Woolmark Company, Tencel and the Südwolle Group, released a biodegradable base layer, mid-layer and shell layer for its New Naturals collection.
“The Woolmark Company and Houdini have long shared similar values regarding the creation of quality and technical products with minimal impact,” said The Woolmark Company’s Managing Director, John Roberts. “As a 100 percent natural, renewable and biodegradable fiber, Merino wool’s inherent circular attributes align with Houdini’s ethos and provides the ultimate ingredient for The New Naturals collection.”
Natural fibers, including Merino wool and Tencel Lyocell—the Lenzing Group’s flagship brand—were used in the collection.
“Cross-industry collaboration is fundamental to not only share the journey towards more sustainable, circular practices and products but also to achieve industry transformation; this is what makes Houdini’s latest offering so exciting,” said Roberts.
The collection includes the Desoli, 100 percent Merino wool base layer, the Alto, a Merino wool and Tencel blend mid-layer and the Lana, a 100 percent Merino wool shell layer.
