Honey Stinger, the sports nutrition brand featuring honey, Thursday announced two new additions to its leadership team: Sarah Mallicote as CFO and Kim Kourkoules as senior director of operations.
Both appointees bring extensive experience and leadership to their new roles at Honey Stinger.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mallicote began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, working with real estate investment companies, private equity and hedge funds in both Atlanta and New York.
After moving to Colorado in 2010, she joined the outdoor industry as a member of the team at Smartwool, where she worked in numerous senior financial analyst roles before moving into her most recent role as the company’s CFO.
Kourkoules also joins Honey Stinger from Smartwool, where she worked as director of sourcing and logistics for more than seven years. Prior to that role, Kourkoulesheld a variety of positions across supply chain, operational, sourcing and quality at Target corporate headquarters.
In addition to their experience, both Kourkoules and Mallicote bring to Honey Stinger a strong passion for the outdoors and recreation, and each joins the company as a long-time resident of Steamboat Springs.
“We couldn’t be prouder to add Kim and Sarah to our team,” said Mike Keown, CEO of Honey Stinger. “With their respective levels of expertise and deep roots in the outdoor industry and in Steamboat, both are an ideal fit for Honey Stinger. As we continue to grow and expand our staff, we’re pleased to be able to recruit such great local talent from right here in our community.”
