Hoka One One, a division of Deckers Brands, has tabbed Sausalito-based OutsidePR to represent the brand in the core endemic markets that have helped Hoka One One grow extremely quickly since their founding in 2009.
OutsidePR will work closely with DKC, Hoka’s lifestyle and fitness agency of record, to engage in a comprehensive public relations program connecting the brand to its current and potential consumer base.
Lee Cox, global vice president of marketing and sales at Hoka One One, said, “OutsidePR is a singular authority on endurance sports. Their participation in everything from ultramarathons to Ironman triathlons gives them a critical credibility and objectivity that is crucial to endemic publicity. We believe their energy and track record aligns perfectly with our dedication to our core customer base and we very much look forward to the partnership.”
In addition to endemic publicity, the agency will support Hoka One One at key trade shows like The Running Event and Outdoor Retailer, as well as develop story-telling surrounding Hoka One One’s deep athlete roster and the identification of key influencers within its area of expertise.
OutsidePR, founded in 1995, specializes in endurance and outdoor sport public relations with an emphasis on publicity, story-telling, crisis communications and social media.
Founder and president Gordon Wright is a former editor of Competitor NorCal and has a long history in running and multisport racing–some of it successful. Wright said, “Hoka is a dream client; it goes without saying. I’ve been wearing their product since 2012 and have watched their ascension to a treasured brand ever since. It’s an honor to partner with them, and we look forward to working closely with the media to serve their needs in reporting on Hoka.”
