Hobie Eyewear created five new sunglasses frames designed for the surf and beach lifestyle. It will showcase the sunglasses at this year’s SURFscape, running from April 29-30 in Huntington Beach, CA, put on by the Surf Industry Members Association.

Hobie’s latest beach lifestyle frames include the Cove, Flats, Vista, Pendleton, and Loma. All offer 100 percent UV protection, polarized lenses and a HydroClean lens coating to repel water, sunscreen, dust, grime, and other debris.

“With a surf heritage that dates back to the 1950s, we wanted to stay true to our history by offering classic surf-inspired styling. Styles like Flats, Pendleton and Vista are as relevant today as they were back in the early Hobie days, and Cove taps into styling that can be seen all up and down the beaches of Southern California,” said Stephen Vaughan, senior director of product development.

Features of the five sunglass styles include:

  • Cove’s co-molded rubber temple grip all day comes in Satin Black, Shiny Black and Satin Crystal Grey.
  • Flats offer a surf-inspired rectangle frame, lightweight, durable construction and adjustable wire-core temples in vibrant color options.
  • With a sleek, square frame with vibrant color details, Vista offers handmade acetate for a durable, flexible and stronger than regular plastic frame, with wire-core temples and spring hinges.
  • With a refined plastic/metal design, the Pendleton frame comes in black and silver with grey lenses and tortoise/gold with copper lenses and adjustable nose pads.
  • Loma is a petite aviator style, with soft rubber nose pads, available in Shiny Rose Gold, with three lens color options: Grey, Pink Mirror, and Cobalt Mirror.
