Hibbett Sporting Goods will open a store in Titusville, FL and hire at least eight employees. The location will be its first in Brevard County.

Hibbett plans to open the store on July 28 at 3055 Columbia Blvd., Suite C104, in the Crossroads Marketplace.

“People in Titusville take their sports seriously, and we plan to give them the sporting goods products and know-how they've been looking for,” said Jeff Rosenthal, president and CEO of the Birmingham, AL-based company.

Hibbett runs more than 800 full-line sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, a majority of them in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The basic store format is 5,000 square feet in a strip center or enclosed mall.

The first store opened in 1945. The company features name-brand footware and apparel for team and individual sports participants.
