Headsweats Hires PR Firm

Headsweats, makers of wicking hats, hired North Carolina-based public relations firm Darby Communications. The partnership is effective immediately.

“Headsweats was born out of a love for sports and desire to make them better for others. It’s satisfying to work with clients who share our values and commitment,” states Coral Darby, of Darby Communications,

The initial PR focus revolves around getting Headsweats’ new Eventure™ Fabric hats and visors on the heads of industry influencers, promoting the launch of Headsweats’ in-store merchandising and sales program, and expanding interest on their already popular custom sublimation capabilities at Winter OR.

“We are thrilled that this partnership coincides with the release of our new Eventure line of hats and visors,” says Kay Martin, Headsweats President. “Darby Communications has the grass roots strength we were looking for to launch this line.”

Headsweats Hires PR Firm

Headsweats Perspiration Technology Headwear has hired San Francisco-based OutsidePR to conduct a broad-ranged public relations campaign for 2009. OutsidePR will help expand Headsweats’ brand awareness in consumer, trade and outdoor-oriented media.

Kay Martin, Headsweats' president, cited OutsidePR as an agency with “a thorough understanding of our target markets and a solid groundwork of contacts within the triathlon, running, rowing, and outdoor arenas.” Kay added, “Their experience with the national-level consumer media will be key to our growth as the leading technical headgear brand.”

OutsidePR president Gordon Wright said, “Hats are elemental gear, yet prior to Headsweats and their products, hats were fairly fungible and a backwater of innovation. Headsweats dominates performance headwear because they created the category. Having worn their products for years, we’re thrilled at the opportunity to represent them.”

Based in Cincinnati with an additional office in Boulder, Headsweats is
the official headwear supplier to Ironman, Project Velo Racing and the
Gore-Tex TransRockies Run. It's line includes custom and inline performance hats, visors, winter
headwear, beanies and classic caps. Headsweats was founded in the winter of 1998 by shoe industry veteran and avid cyclist, Alan Romick.
