Head/Tyrolian welcomed Stefan Hughes as its U.S. competition and team manager. Hughes will manage Head’s racing program in the U.S. and work closely with its Austrian race department to coordinate service for Head’s retailers, coaches and athletes.
“Stefan is a first-rate addition to our strong team. His racing pedigree runs deep, and his passion for excellence in all things skiing drives him toward success,” said Jon Rucker, president, Head USA Winter Sports. “Along with our team of sales reps, we are motivated to serve the ski racing community with the highest level of dedication and support.”
Hughes grew up in Killington, VT and attended Burke Mountain Academy where he was the U.S. Nationals Junior Slalom Champion before skiing for the University of Colorado. A two-time NCAA All-American, he coached for Winter Park and Ski Club Vail before becoming the assistant alpine ski coach for the University of Colorado.
“Head is the top-performing brand on the World Cup, and this success comes from the top down. The engineering, the technical support and the drive of its athletes are extraordinary, perhaps rebellious. This is what separates Head from the rest, and I’m happy to join this team,” said Hughes.
Hughes will be based in the Head’/Tyrolian U.S. Winter Sports headquarters in Boulder, CO. Head is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
