GSM Outdoors reported it acquired D&J Plastics and Big Bite Baits. The company did not disclose the terms of the deal.

GSM said, “D&J has been a trusted source throughout the fishing industry for OEM manufacturing for over 45 years, with a strong focus on soft plastics.” According to GSM, Big Bite Baits, a house brand, reportedly grew to become “a popular brand throughout the fishing world” and has products in the bass, panfish and saltwater segments.

“The business model and legacy that the Montgomery family built is a wonderful picture of the American Dream,” said Edward Castro, CEO of GSM Outdoors. “We don’t take the opportunity to steward these brands and this dream into the future lightly. What they have built lines up perfectly, with the direction of GSM and will be a foundational piece of our fishing portfolio.”

“I’ve always been impressed with the way Big Bite Baits has grown and expanded into a top-tier line of fishing products,” added Crispin Powley, GSM senior vice president of fishing. “With key components remaining in place, such as personnel and pro staff, coupled with an established portfolio of existing products. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Big Bite as we combine resources.”
