W. L. Gore & Associates announced that the consumer business of its fabrics division would introduce new Gore-Tex products with expanded Polyethylene (ePE) membrane for AW22. The ePE membrane is used as a complementary material suitable for a variety of consumer products and uses.
Gore-Tex ePE membrane features and products include:
- The membrane is light, thin, strong, and offers durable performance;
- It is PFC-free* and has a reduced carbon footprint (per Higg MSI) achieved by its lower material mass with a new material combination;
- The membrane is bonded to selected backers and/or face textiles (i.e., recycled, solution-dyed or undyed) to form a Gore-Tex laminate; and
- Gore-Tex products with the new ePE membrane are waterproof, windproof, breathable, and offer a longer product life.
Gore-Tex products with its latest ePE membrane will be introduced in AW22 through Adidas, Arc’Teryx, Dakine, Patagonia, Reusch, Salomon, and Ziener, and are intended for specific consumer uses including outdoor and lifestyle garments, lifestyle footwear and snow sports gloves. Gore said that products for additional consumer end-uses, and from additional customers, will be introduced in upcoming seasons.
“All garments, footwear and accessories with Gore-Tex product technologies are tested in Gore-Tex Labs and in the field to ensure they are of high quality and meet strenuous brand standards for the intended use. To support the new introduction, Gore released a digital media campaign. View here.
