Eider has appointed freeskiing champion Gordy Peifer as the director of Team Eider, USA. This appointment is in concert with the current existing global Eider Team, which includes the likes of Extreme Skier, Pierre Tardivel with over 70 first ascents and Freerider, Xavier Delerue, the four time Border Cross champion, and World renowned climber, Lionel Daudet.

“With the growth of Eider, in the USA, we feel that it is important to create an Eider Team, in the USA, that reflects perfectly the natural elements in our country” said Gene Frederick, President of Eurosport, the distribution company for Eider in the USA. “This is good for the USA market but also plays a great role in the global identity of the brand.”

“Gordy joins the Eider Team with a perfect understanding of the needs of the athletes and the product itself. As director, he can use his background as a Freeskiing champion, in working with the athletes and in securing the best athletes for the job. Also, we are looking beyond the snow, in creating a team that includes climbers, explorers, and adventure athletes to inclusively put the brand to the test!”, said Frederick.

Peifer got his start in ski racing and attributes the techniques he learned while racing to helping him accomplish his numerous first descents.

Peifer’s signature smooth yet aggressive style helped him become the 2000 U.S. Freeskiing Champion, the 1998 Canadian Freeskiing Champion, secure a third place at NBC’s Gravity games in big mountain skiing, and compete in several X-games.

” We are very excited to have Gordy on board as he is not only a great personality but his knowledge in the winter sport industry and his numerous connections around the globe makes him a perfect candidate for the exciting challenge in creating Eider team USA!,” comments Frederick.
