According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played on a national level were up 21.4 percent in January 2012 over January 2011. Public access play was up 23.0 percent and private course activity was up 17.5 percent.
There were 3,120 contributing golf courses used in this report.
All regions showed gains: Pacific, 7.4 percent; Mountain, 9.5 percent; West North Central, 453.8 percent; East North Central, 614.8 percent; New England, 466.4 percent; Mid Atlantic, 1458.5 percent; South Atlantic, 20.3 percent; and South Central, 43.6 percent.
