Golf rounds played for March 2020 fell 8.5 percent nationally compared to a year ago, according to Golf Datatech. Double-digit increases in the New England, East North Central and Mid-Atlantic regions were offset by a steep decline in the Pacific region and smaller declines in the South Central and South Atlantic.
In the month of March, the biggest regional declines were seen in the Pacific, down 34.0 percent; Mountain, 13.9 percent; South Atlantic, 7.0 percent; and South Central, 4.6 percent. Gains were seen in West North Central, up 37.5 percent; New England, 33.4 percent; Mid Atlantic, 13.8 percent; and East North Central, 11.1 percent.
For the first three months of the year, golf rounds played nationwide are up 3.8 percent.
