The National Golf Federation reported that same-store rounds played in the U.S. increased marginally (0.2%) in June 2005 vs. June 2004. The estimate is based on data from operators at 1,663 golf facilities. The resulting year-to-date total through June is a 1.1% decline from last year.

The hardest hit region in June was Central/South Florida, which was down 12% for the month, due to record rainfall in the region. Conversely, the South Central region was up 11%. Private clubs in the survey saw rounds played up 0.7% for the month and down 2.6% for the YTD period. Total Public courses were up 0.1% and down 0.7% for the YTD period. Premium Public courses led the group with a 3.5% increase in rounds played in June, resulting in a 1.4% decline for the year-to-date period.
