Rounds for the U.S. were down 2.9% in May 2010 versus the prior year and down 3.0% on a YTD basis, according to Golf Datatech. Public access play was down 3.7% for the month and private course activity was down 0.1%. 

A total of 3870 courses are represented in this report.

By region, declines in the month of May were seen in the Mountain, 9.0%; East North Central, 8.9%; West North Central, 8.7%; Pacific, 5.5%; and South Central, 0.5%. Gains were seen in New England, 8.2%; Mid-Atlantic, 4.1%; and South Atlantic, 3.6%.
