Golf rounds for the U.S were up 19.4% during February 2011 compared to February 2010, according to Golf Datatech. Public access play was up 19.9% for the month and private course activity increased 18.2%.
A total of 2835 courses are represented in this report.
By region, the biggest gains were seen in New England, rising 290.4%; East North Central, 270.3%; Mid Atlantic, 187.2%; and West North Central, 130.%. South Central grew 55.3% and South Atlantic advanced 28.6%. The two regions showing declines were Pacific, off 2.4% and Mountain, down 1.5%.
Year-to-date national golf rounds played increased 13.6%.
