The Golf Datatech National Golf Rounds Played Report showed that in March, golf rounds played varied vastly between regions, with participation in the Pacific, Mountain, South Central and South Atlantic regions decreasing and participation increasing in the West North Central, East North Central, New England and Mid-Atlantic regions. According to the report, national golf rounds played in the U.S. were up 3.4% in March 2009 vs. March 2008, bringing the year-to-date total to an increase of 2.4% from last year’s overall results.


The Pacific region reported the largest decline in rounds played with a 6.9% drop from last year’s January rounds, while the East North Central region saw a whopping 146.9% increase in rounds played.
 
Other results included: Mountain (-1.3%), West North Central (45.7%), New England (85.1%), Mid-Atlantic (17.1%), South Atlantic  (-6.6%) and South Central (-3.1%).
