Gerber Legendary Blades announced the promotion of Joe Mattson to the position of senior brand manager.  Mattson assumes the role immediately and will be responsible for leading Gerber’s brand marketing team and corresponding activities within the company.

“Joe brings a fresh perspective and keen mind to the Brand Manager position and we’re incredibly pleased to welcome him into the role,” said Jason Landmark, Gerber President. “In the time he’s been here Joe has shown himself to be a strong, intuitive leader and is the ideal candidate to help maintain the incredible momentum that the Gerber brand has experienced over the last few years.”

A Washington native and avid outdoorsman, Mattson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and American Literature from Harvard University and an MBA from the Lundquist School of Business at the University of Oregon. He joined Gerber in August 2011 as a Category Manager for the brand’s Essentials collection after successful tenures at the Seattle-based creative firm Creature and the Marketing Strategy and Consultancy firm Relay Worldwide in New York City. In his new role as Senior Brand Manager Joe will rely on his deep curiosity for understanding people and what motivates consumer behavior.

“I’m extremely honored to be joining the exceptional Brand Marketing team at Gerber,” said Mattson. “I believe in our products, I have a deep respect for our heritage, I love the talented team we have in place, and I value our tireless and loyal partners.  I can’t wait to get started and help to build upon the significant excitement and momentum behind our growing brand.”
