Global Brand Marketing Inc. appointed Todd Lemere to Vice President of International Operations. Lemere has worked in many different divisions at GBMI, including Marketing, Operations, Business Development and International. In addition, GBMI has promoted Tomo Nakamura to Vice President of International Sales for all regions. Nakamura previously served as Vice President of International Sales for the Asia-Pacific region.

“Todd has held several international positions for successful footwear brands and was my first employee when I started GBMI nine years ago. He worked for me when I started the international business at L.A. Gear as well as heading up all of international operations for me at Skechers,” said Killick Datta, Chief Executive Officer of Global Brand Marketing Inc. “Todd’s expertise is grounded in international, and the wealth of knowledge he brings will be invaluable to lead the operations team here at GBMI.”

Lemere began his career nearly twenty years ago at L.A. Gear Inc. and served as a Sales Development Director for Latin America. Prior to joining GBMI, Lemere was International Brand Manager at BATA, Limited and prior to that he was Senior Director of International Operations at Skechers USA Inc. (NYSE:SKX).

Datta continues, “Tomo has built up a very strong Asia Pacific business for GBMI over the last few years and I know will do an excellent job taking over the responsibility of managing sales to all distributors worldwide. Tomo’s focus will now be to spear head the launch of several new brands internationally over the next six months.”

Nakamura joined GBMI four years ago and offers nearly twenty years of experience in international sales for leading footwear companies in the U.S. and Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining GBMI, Nakamura served as Vice President of Sales for Asia-Pacific for Wolverine Worldwide Inc.

As previously announced, GBMI hired Roelof de Leeuw and Nirup Malkani to serve as Managing Directors in Europe and India, respectively. The GBMI European division has now established subsidiaries and GBMI direct agents who report to de Leeuw. In the interim, Lemere, Nakamura, de Leeuw and Malkani will all report to CEO Killick Datta until the company appoints a Senior Vice President of International.
