Girls on the Run International, Vibram and SmartWool presented the inaugural “Remarkable Running Footwear Specialty Retail Partnership” award to Gazelle Sports.
The award was presented at the Running & Fitness Event for Women in Chicago this week. The award recognizes a retailer who has been an exceptional partner to its local Girls on the Run council. Gazelle Sports received the award in recognition of its long-time support of Girls on the Run Greater Kalamazoo.
“From spearheading initial efforts to bring Girls on the Run to Kalamazoo, to providing funding for our first staff member, to engaging employees as coaches and board members, the support we receive from Gazelle Sports is immeasurable,” said Melisa Beeson, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Greater Kalamazoo. “Gazelle Sports has been an integral partner with Girls on the Run.”
The Girls on the Run “Remarkable Running Footwear Specialty Retail Partnership” award was presented during a reception sponsored by Vibram, SmartWool and Runner's World on Monday, June 29th. The annual event is attended by specialty running retailers and includes special events, workshops and a trade show. SmartWool & Vibram presented Gazelle Sports with the award and also made a $1,000 donation to Girls on the Run Greater Kalamazoo in honor of Gazelle Sports.
