Garmont signed on as the Gold Sponsor of the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) a non-profit training and education program.
 
As the Gold Sponsor, Garmont plays a vital role in the continued success of the Mountain Rescue Association, supporting the ongoing training and education of its members.

Universally recognized mountain and backcountry experts, the highly trained professional rescuers of the MRA are the beacons of hope for lost hikers, skiers and snowboarders, rock climbers as well as hikers, hunters and backpackers.
 
“Established in 1959 at Timberline Lodge at Mount Hood, Oregon the MRA is the oldest Search and Rescue association in the United States,” said Dave Clark, Vice President of MRA. “In order to operate, we rely on our partnerships to ensure local search and rescue units maintain the highest level of technical skills needed to keep all members safe in their duties.”
 
The MRA is a non-profit organization composed of 86 accredited units, for a total of over 2,500 members. Serving as the only national search and rescue team accreditation organization, the MRA ensures that local units meet the professional-level safety training standards required to meet the needs of their community of outdoor enthusiasts.
