Garmin has released its 2024 Garmin Connect Data Report, highlighting overall health and fitness trends garnered from its customers worldwide. From detailed health and wellness stats and fitness-driven data, the company said insights from its Connect community show that 2024 was another active year.

Health & Wellness Takeaways

  • Average Body Battery Level Score, 71: The report found that the company’s customers had the most energy on a Tuesday, with Saturday showing the lowest score. Customers in the Netherlands had the highest Average Body Battery score, while those in Japan had the lowest average.
  • Average Sleep Score, 71: Customers in The Netherlands get the best sleep. Those in Indonesia had the lowest average sleep score.
  • Average Stress Score, 30: Mondays are the least stressful day of the week. Saturdays saw the highest scores. Users in Malaysia had the highest stress scores in 2024. Those in South Korea had the lowest.

Fitness Takeaways

  • Average Training Readiness Score, 60: Customers in New Zealand are the most prepared for a workout. South Korea had the lowest average score.
  • Training Status is linked to seasonality in the Northern Hemisphere, with “Detraining” status most common in October, November and December. “Peaking” and “Productive” status were most common in June, July, August, and September.
  • Daily Steps Per Day, 8,317: Customers in Hong Kong take the most steps. Customers in Indonesia had the lowest daily average.
  • Fitness Age: On average, Garmin said its users are 2.48 years “younger” than their actual age. For women, that’s 1.94 years younger on average, while men tend to have a slightly higher gap with fitness age at 2.75 years younger than their actual ages.

Daily Steps
Garmin reported that a great indicator of how active someone is regularly is how many daily steps they take. Factors, including age, weight, current fitness levels, and other metrics, will impact each individual’s “golden number” of steps, but more steps generally lead to improved health outcomes.

On average, Garmin users worldwide take 8,317 steps daily. Hong Kong has the highest daily average with 10,340, while Garmin users in Indonesia are less mobile at 5,375 steps per day.
