Gander Mountain is expanding its presence in Youngstown, OH with a new store on the site of its current facility.
“Gander Mountain is already a well-known and trusted name in Youngstown and the surrounding region among those who love the outdoors, and who enjoy great traditions like hunting, fishing, hiking, boating and camping,” said David Pratt, Gander Mountain’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are thrilled to bring a new and significantly larger Gander Mountain store to Youngstown, and to give our friends in the Mahoning Valley a bigger, better experience when they’re looking for top-quality gear and knowledgeable service.”
The new Gander Mountain store will be located at 2390 Niles Cortland Road in Howland Township, in a new 61,300-square-foot facility. The current store, which opened in 1999 and has 31,000 square feet of retail space, will be torn down and replaced by a facility that is nearly double the size. Gander Mountain will operate out of a temporary space in the Howland Commons shopping center while the new store is under construction.
“We appreciate the great relationship we have with the people in Youngstown and our landlord, Cafaro Company, and we look forward to the grand opening of a bigger, better store next spring,” said Eric Jacobsen, Gander Mountain’s Executive Vice President and Director of Real Estate. “We remain open for business in a temporary location near the site of our new store, and look forward to helping people find the gear they need for the fall and winter outdoors seasons.”
Since 2012, Gander Mountain has added nearly 50 new stores throughout the country, and remodeled most of the company’s existing stores. More new store announcements are expected soon.
