Team sports retailer Game One promoted company President Pat Weber to CEO, effective February 16, retaining his role as president.
“We are incredibly passionate about our business. We believe in the power of telling team stories. It’s simply part of our DNA.” Weber stated.
Weber has over 17 years of experience leading in the team sports and uniform business. His background as a sales rep, retail store manager and VP of operations reportedly “give him a unique understanding of every aspect of Game One’s business and the needs of its customers.”
“Pat excels at developing high-performing teams, promoting collaboration, optimizing operational efficiency and creating growth,” said Russ Wilson, partner at Trivest, the private equity firm that owns Game One. “His drive and relationship skills will give Game One the competitive edge.”
Game One believes it has transformed the team sporting goods arena by combining nine regional companies into one company.
“Taking the best practices from all nine companies and creating a best-in-class distribution model was challenging,” said Weber. “And we are excited our team now has the tools of a new ERP, increased decoration capacity with our new 135,000-square-foot facility in Ohio and a new team store experience for sales reps and customers. I think we are set up for exponential growth over the next few years.”
Game One has over 180 sales reps serving 13,000 customers across 38 states.
