Frasers Group, the parent company of Sports Direct, Everlast, and Slazenger, reported that Ger Wright will leave her role as managing director of Sport at the end of November. Wright will remain on the Group’s Board as a non-executive director.
Wright was appointed to the position in 2022 after running her consultancy business and spending over 14 years working for Nike EMEA at its headquarters in the Netherlands. Her last role at Nike was VP and general manager of the Merchandising Marketplace for the EMEA region. Earlier in her career, Wright worked for Levi Strauss, which was based in Ireland.
Frasers said that since her appointment in 2022, Ger “has made a significant contribution to the execution of the Group’s Elevation Strategy. The company also noted that the Group’s Sport Division has “evolved during her tenure with the introduction of our Running and Outdoor concepts, the onboarding of new brands and international expansion into new markets. Ger leaves behind a talented and ambitious team who will continue to evolve and drive the Elevation Strategy in Sport.”
Michael Murray, CEO of Frasers Group, stated, “Ger has been an exceptional leader for Frasers Group, and we are grateful for her contribution. We look forward to continuing to benefit from Ger’s sector expertise as a Non-Executive Director as we further accelerate the Group’s ambitions in Sport.”
