Franklin Armory, Inc., the U.S. manufacturer of firearms and accessories, announced that production and sales of its Reformation firearm have resumed.

Based on the articulated ruling issued last month in its prevailing lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the company will begin shipping a variety of Reformation model configurations to consumers through federally licensed firearm dealers (FFLs) this week.

Featuring Franklin Armory’s patented straight-cut land and groove design, Reformation is classed as neither a rifle nor a shotgun. Instead, Reformation is a “firearm” regulated only by the Gun Control Act (GCA). No tax stamp is required since Reformation is not a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm.

Franklin Armory President Jay Jacobson said: “Reformation was designed to be the ultimate home defense weapon. It provides excellent ballistic effectiveness in a short package, yet it does not trigger any NFA entanglements because the ruling made it clear that Reformation is simply just a GCA Firearm. It has been an honor to secure this victory for the Second Amendment community in the face of agency overreach and tenacious litigation.”
