Asensei Inc., a finalist in the Sports & Fitness Industry Association’s 2017 Start-Up Challenge, has announced the raise of $2 million in investment led by KB Partners, a Chicago-based early stage venture firm focused on the intersection of sports and technology, and Mooring Hitch.

This brings the total investment in the company to just under $3 million for Asensei, a Connected Coaching company specializing in digital sports coaching and smart apparel.

Asensei has launched the first connected coaching for rowing product for the Concept 2 indoor rowing machine.

The company released a free 6-week coaching program with 2x Olympic gold medalist Eric Murray. The program has been developed alongside Concept 2 and Movember Foundation in New Zealand.

And Asensei will release the first Kinetic Capture-capable apparel later next year, coaching rowers not only on their biomechanics and form, but cross-training them in adjacent activities including Olympic Lifting, Yoga and Strength and Conditioning training.
