Charming Shoppes, Inc. appointed Marla C. Anderson as the president of its Lane Bryant Outlet business, effective July 12, 2010. Most recently, she was the president and chief executive officer of Lady
Foot Locker from 2005 through early 2010.
During her 11-year career at Foot Locker, Inc. she also held executive
management positions including executive vice president of Foot Locker
from 2003 through 2005, and executive vice president of Champs Sports
from 2001 through 2003. Prior to joining Champs Sports in 1998,
Anderson held merchandising and management positions at Famous Barr,
Montgomery Ward, Reebok, Federated Department Stores, and May Department
Stores.
Anderson will report directly to Jim Fogarty, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charming Shoppes, Inc., and succeeds MaryEllen MacDowell, who was previously President of Lane Bryant Outlet, and was promoted to the position of President of Fashion Bug on June 15, 2010.
