FN America, Inc. announces that its Columbia, South Carolina subsidiary, FN Manufacturing, has received the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) accreditation for chemical processing. By doing so, the company will remain on the Defense Logistics Agency’s Qualified Supplier List of Manufacturers (DLA QSLM).

“After months of preparation, process improvement, systems implementation and training, we are pleased to have earned such an important industry accreditation,” said FN America President and CEO Mark Cherpes.  “This accreditation not only allows FN America to continue its proud history of supporting the U.S. military as a qualified small arms supplier, but it also showcases the company’s continued commitment to exceeding the industry’s already high quality standards.”

Nadcap is a global cooperative accreditation program for aerospace engineering, defense and related industries. Manufacturers are certified to the Nadcap standard for chemical processes such as phosphate coating by The Performance Review Institute (PRI). To become certified, a manufacturer must document and submit information showing conformance to DLA QSLM requirements and pass a conformance audit.

“Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy; it is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality product through superior special processes,” said, PRI Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Joe Pinto.  “Companies such as FN America work hard to obtain this status and they should be justifiably proud of it.”
