Nike Epic React Flyknit
Three years in the making, React is Nike’s sequel to its Lunar technology. The Epic React Flyknit is the first running shoe to feature the new technology. Nike is chasing one of the biggest trends led by Adidas where brands are priortizing style icons as much as athletes to get their shoes to market fast.
Like Adidas’ Boost, React is a shoe all about maximalism. The staring feature is a giant sole made from a single block of foam, with promises to put a percentage of the energy from each footfall back into your next step.
Where not too long ago it was all about the era minimalism and barefoot running, today it’s about energy return—the hottest promise in athletic shoe technology—with plush, marshmallow soles.
Nike will release the React Flynit, available in two colors, at retail on February 22.
