Florence Marine X, an outdoor apparel company co-founded by two-time world champion surfer and Olympian John John Florence, announced that it had named Joel Centeio as GM, Hawaii.
“Joel is one of the most respected people in the surfing world, and more importantly, just a great human being,” said Jeff Hurley, CEO, Kandui Holdings, LLC. “I couldn’t be more stoked to have him leading the charge for us in Hawai’i.”
Centeio comes to Florence from Hurley, where he had a 23-year career. Beginning as a professional surfer and brand ambassador, Centeio became Hurley’s Hawaii marketing manager and then its sales manager overseeing the Hawaiian market.
Florence President Pat O’Connell said of the announcement, “Having Joel helm Florence at what is the birthplace and epicenter of our brand is an honor. We’ve worked together for a long time, and his experience will be invaluable as we build the next great outdoor brand around the greatest surfer in the world.”
